Welcome to the world of magic - lets make amazing accessory without needles and threads

In this course I will show you some clever nuno felting techniques, which will help you to create amazing accessories, closing and decor.

First of all it is a fun and easy project suitable for kids from age of 6 -7 years old.

But it is also a great course to learn new techniques in felting - particularly nuno felting.

On the example of a headband, which could also be used as a belt or event a wristband, you can learn these techniques while having a great time with your kids or friends or on your own.

Using these techniques I am making shawls, dresses, head/hairbands of different styles, bags, vest coats, pillowcases. I also use it in design of wall hangings. But this list is not the limit of these techniques - just a beginning.

Whether you are a beginner in nuno felting or have already done some techniques but want to learn more, this course will give you a great opportunity to learn how to create volume/ 3D effects in nuno felting and understand the role of wool in this process.

I recommend to use materials, which are easy to handle: such as fine silk and finest merino wool with some additional fibres to add to the experiment and creative adventurous process.

I also recommend watching first and then following the process, possibly while re-watching the blocks of the creation process. In this course I will make with you two headbands in normal pace, which can give you idea of the time you might need (I will suggest to have at least an hour to enjoy the process, not counting sourcing materials).

 WHAT DO YOU NEED:

You need two sheets of bubble wrap or one larger piece (ca. 30*20cm if two pieces), a bowl of warm water, a towel and soap (I use an olive bar soap). You can use a sprinkling bottle (the one you use to water flowers for example) but you can also use your hands or a sponge if you like.

This workshop is a super mother-daughter get creative time.  But it could also be a good activity for a creative girls' catch up or winding down after a hard working day project.

Art and craft were always great for feeling good mode.

MATERIALS:

We will work with gorgeous materials: natural weightless silks like chiffon, ponge and gauze.

Why to use silk you may ask - because silk is the easiest material to work with and sense of achievement is rather important not only for you and me but also for our kids if you do this project with them.

You can use your own materials - any cut outs and left overs of fine open weaved silk will be good. You need a piece of a length for a belt/ hair band approx. 15-20cm* 90cm+; smaller rectangular pieces of approx. 4cm*20cm+; and smaller cut puts.
We will also need a small bit no more than 5-10 grams of super fine merino wool 14.5-16 microns, max. 19 microns.
If you like you can also use fibres of silk or plant based fibres like viscose, hemp, tencel etc.

I am offering material packs for this workshop. They have natural silk, most of the silk I dye using natural dyes. Each pack has fibres to use and experiment with effect they can give and of course wool.

On request I can add some beads to embellish your project.

If you are interested in the material pack visit my Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/NadiaReinDesign or email me when out of stock and I will put one together especially for you.
